Aamir Abid, Graduate Student

My current research interests are in experimentally investigating soot nucleation and growth. A technique recently developed at USC, probe sampling/SMPS, is utilized to map out detailed particle size distribution of soot formed in a premixed burner stabilized flame for the temperature, fuel structure and fuel concentration space.

Additionally, I am interested in developing instrumentation to probe flame generated nanopartiles to sizes less than 10 nm. Particularly my interests are motivated by further understanding the effect of nanoparticles to global climate change and health effects.

My current resume can be found here.
